Imagine what would the world look like if man knew what is expecting him in the afterlife. The fact that we don’t know keeps a balance in many human behaviors, and allows us a great amount of freedom. Faith and belief represent today a powerful drive, but also a mechanism of control. Some think there is nothing after death; others believe in heaven and hell; an eternal state of peace and many other forms of reward/ punishment scenarios. Their opinions are miles apart, worlds away from each other. The same distance that separates us from those who passed away.
